Norman R. Berkowitz specializes in Tax Law, Estates and Trusts and Corporate Law. He has an extremely broad-based tax practice. He regularly represents individuals and corporations in tax audit examinations and appeals before the Internal Revenue Service, the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance and other state and local taxing authorities. His extensive experience also includes advising on Estate and Tax Planning and Corporate and Partnership law.He has successfully represented taxpayers before all of the courts of New York State including the Court of Appeals, as well as the U.S. Tax Court, U.S. District Courts, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, in addition to state tax commissions throughout the country.
Mr. Berkowitz is a frequent lecturer at many tax and estate planning organizations and conferences and has been on the faculty of St. Johns University and Pace University. In addition, he has authored articles on a variety of tax and estate issues in various tax publications and was the Tax Editor of Trust & Estates, and The Client Information Bulletin.
Mr. Berkowitz is a New York State Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the Tax Section of both the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
