Ms. Motegi handles a variety of legal matters that Japanese companies, organizations, and individuals face in the United States, including corporate law, real estate, and litigation.  She also conducts seminars and writes articles on American legal issues for Japanese audiences. Ms. Motegi is admitted to practice law both in Japan (bengoshi, inactive) and New York.

Ms. Motegi began her legal career at Kojima Law Offices in 2004.  While there, she handled a range of domestic and international legal issues, with particular emphasis on corporate law, employment, and litigation.  Subsequently she served as a deputy diplomat with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and was heavily involved in treaty negotiations concerning international investment.  After obtaining her L.L.M. and passing the New York State Bar, Ms. Motegi has worked in New York focusing primarily on corporate and real estate matters.

Ms. Motegi graduated from Nihon University in Tokyo, Japan where she majored in legal studies. She passed the Japanese bar examination and completed her licensing as a Japanese attorney at the Legal Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Japan.  She received her Master of Laws (LL.M.) at the University of Southern California's Gould School of Law.  She is fluent in both Japanese and English.
